Weekend Getaway Audition Video

Persistence really pays off. And so if you are the type who easily gives up on something, it’s time to change gears. Here’s the audition video I created for GMA News TV 11′s Weekend Getaway, our ticket to Zamboanga, the farthest we’ve been!

More pictures coming up! Keep posted for my stories of the whole experience. ☺

Keep Safe, Mountaineer!

This post was written a day before Adrian Alba’s body was found.

I pray that if fellow mountaineer Adrian Alba didn’t make it through the rough conditions of nature these past days, may his remains at least be found. I am hoping for the best though, that he is safe somewhere.

I’m so good in huffing that I won’t miss this chance to let everyone know how disgusted I am with what’s happening in our little community. I seek no attention nor trying to be infamous but hey, it’s a person’s life that we’re talking about.

Behind the Photographs

Rachel, I miss you.

For the past seven years, I’ve already had three cameras. My love for photographs can be seen on the amount of pictures I’ve stored and shared online.

Lambanog

My knowledge of Lambanog and its roots is close to zero. All I know is that it’s an alcoholic beverage which has been around since the Spanish colonial era. I promise to bring you more stories about this native brew in my next posts.

For now, I can’t wait to share this small collection of videos taken during one of our boring nights in the mountain. See how lychees that are plunged in a bottle of Lambanog for two months could make your world turn upside down.

Apologies for the low resolution of the video and my noobery with video editing (the hi-res version will take 1381294821374823 years to upload). Have fun, anyway!

Submitted for the approval of the Team Evercrest, I call this story…

They say third time’s a charm. Oh, yes for some but not for me. I’ve scaled this mountain thrice and I never experienced anything but fun and amusement of how beautiful nature is on all three occasions.

Gulugod Baboy is pig’s spine in the vernacular and the mountain is name as such because of its shape.  Mount GB, as most mountaineers call it, is one of the favorites in the mountaineering community when it comes to day hikes and massive camping. The campsite is a big playground for all outdoor enthusiasts!

It was just disappointing during our latest visit as I’ve been waiting for it since last month because of the full moon phenomenon. It was all foggy and rain showers never failed to add up to our already dismayed hearts.

Foggy morning it was!
